With a full-frame equivalent focal length of 609 mm and a maximum aperture of F4.5, the lens fills the gap between the XF200mm F2 and the XF500mm F5.6. It is aimed primarily at wildlife, sports, and aviation photographers who need substantial reach without the usual bulk of optics in this class.
